동서양의 신화를 소개해주는 만화책. 책 한 권으로 이야기 할 수 있는 분량이 아니다보니 주마간산식으로 흝는 전개밖에 되지 않는다. 그러나 신화가 왜 생겨나게되었고 왜 서로 비슷한 내용을 가지게 되는지에 대한 설명은 볼만하다.

이 책에 짧게 짧게 언급된 한, 중, 일, 인도, 페르시아, 이집트, 그리스/로마, 북유럽, 켈트신화들 중에서 눈길을 끌었던 것은 신들의 인간적인 면을 보여준 북유럽신화. 인간적이면서도 가볍지 않은 분위기가 매력적이다. 좀 더 다른 책을 읽어보고 싶어졌다.

This cartoon book is an introduction to world's mythology. Won-bok Lee is well-known for his bestselling "Our Neighborhood Countries(먼나라이웃나라)", the introduction to several countries. This book is his attempt to widen the culture coverage he deals with. Surely it's impossible to summarize numerous myths into one book. So, the latter part of this book, the myths of each nation, is a kind of mess from a point of view. However, the former part, introduction to mythology, is well described and kids and students can get something from this book.
